What Information We Collect

When you use our app, we collect:

Account Information — Email address, username, and password you provide when signing up. Your password is securely hashed by our authentication provider and never stored in plain text.

Profile Information — Timezone (to schedule reminders at the correct local time) and an optional phone number (used only if you choose to enable SMS verification).

Medication Data — Medication names, notes, schedules, dosage times, refill information, and to-do check-off history that you manually enter.

App Activity Data — Energy points earned and spent, streak counts, daily check-in records, newsletter unlocks, and virtual pet game interactions (feeding, cleaning, playing, etc.).

Device and Push Notification Data — A device push token (needed to send medication reminders to your device) and basic platform information (iOS or Android).

Usage Data — Pages visited, time spent in the app, and features used.

How We Use Your Information

Medication Management

We use your medication details to:

  • Provide timely reminders and push notifications
  • Track adherence and check-off history
  • Display your to-do list and calendar
  • Generate intake statistics and streaks

Gamification and Engagement

We use activity data to:

  • Track energy points and daily streaks
  • Power the Remed:y virtual pet mini-game (pet care actions, growth, and challenge progress)
  • Unlock newsletter content based on earned energy

Notifications

We send push notifications for medication reminders, refill reminders, and game reminders. You can toggle each of these on or off in Settings at any time.

SMS Verification

If you choose to add a phone number, we send a one-time verification code via SMS to confirm the number belongs to you. The code expires after 10 minutes.

Analytics and Improvements

We analyze anonymized and aggregated data to:

  • Understand user behavior
  • Identify trends
  • Improve app performance and features

Communications

We may contact you with:

  • Important updates and required notices
  • Reminder and notification alerts

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services that have their own privacy policies:

Supabase — Provides user authentication, cloud database storage, and real-time data syncing. Your account credentials and all app data are stored on Supabase's secure servers.

Twilio — Sends SMS verification codes when you add a phone number. Only the verification code is transmitted; your phone number is stored in your account profile.

Expo Push Notifications — Delivers medication and game reminders to your device using a device-specific push token.

Google Play Services, AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase, and Firebase Crashlytics — May process identifiers, app activity, advertising data, usage data, and diagnostics as described in their own privacy policies.

Note: These services may process identifiers, app activity, advertising data, usage data, and diagnostics as needed to provide their services and as described in their privacy policies.

When We Share Information

We may disclose your information:

  • Legal Requirements — To comply with laws, subpoenas, or legal processes
  • Safety — To protect rights, safety, or investigate fraud
  • Trusted Partners — Service providers who work for us and follow our privacy rules

Important: We never sell your medication or health data to third parties.

Data Storage and Security

Cloud Storage — All data (medications, schedules, check-offs, energy, streaks, pets, and profile settings) is stored securely on Supabase cloud servers with encryption in transit and at rest. Data is protected by row-level security policies so each user can only access their own data.

Data Retention — Your data is kept as long as you maintain an active account. If you disable your account, your data is scheduled for permanent deletion after 30 days. If you sign back in within that window, deletion is cancelled and your data is restored.

Account Deletion — You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Settings > Delete Account). Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also disable your account (Settings > Disable Account), which schedules deletion after 30 days but allows recovery if you sign back in.

Your Rights

Opt-Out of Notifications

You can toggle medication reminders, refill reminders, and game reminders on or off in Settings at any time.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all data from within the app. You can also email us at remedyappsupport@gmail.com and we will respond promptly. Uninstalling the app removes local app data from your device but does not delete your cloud data or account.

Children's Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If we discover a child under 13 has provided information, we'll delete it immediately.

Parents: If you believe your child shared information with us, contact us at remedyappsupport@gmail.com.

Security

We take security seriously and use physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest on our cloud provider. Access to personal and sensitive data is limited to authorized personnel and service providers who need it to operate the app. Each user's data is isolated by row-level security policies.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you by posting the updated policy here. Please check regularly for changes.

App and developer identification

Remed:y is published on Google Play under the developer name Claire Liu and is owned and operated by LoSimplifica.

Data access, collection, use, and sharing

The app accesses, collects, uses, and shares data only as described in this Privacy Policy. Depending on the features you use, this may include information you provide (email, username, phone number, medication details), account information, app activity and usage data (energy, streaks, check-offs, pet interactions), device and app identifiers, IP address, operating-system information, diagnostics, crash and performance data, advertising data when ads are offered, and records or content needed for the app's stated functionality.

We use this information to provide and maintain app functionality, authenticate users, store and synchronize user-selected content, provide support, protect users and the service, prevent fraud or abuse, analyze reliability and usage, improve the app, display and measure advertising when offered, and comply with legal obligations.

Third-party providers identified in this policy (Supabase, Twilio, Expo, Google Play Services, AdMob, Firebase) may process the data needed to perform their services, including identifiers, app activity, advertising data, usage data, and diagnostics. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations. We do not sell personal or sensitive user data.

Secure data handling

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including access controls, row-level database security policies, platform security protections, and encryption in transit and at rest. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, but access to personal and sensitive data is limited to authorized personnel and service providers who need it to operate the app.

Data retention and deletion

Personal data is retained only while needed to provide the app or an account, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, maintain security and fraud-prevention records, and meet legal obligations. Users can permanently delete their account and all associated data from within the app (Settings > Delete Account), which takes effect immediately. Users can also disable their account (Settings > Disable Account), which schedules deletion after 30 days with recovery available until then. Following a verified deletion request, personal data associated with the user and app will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where limited retention is required by law, needed to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or maintained temporarily in protected backups. Backup copies are removed under the normal backup-rotation schedule.

Where available, users may delete their account or data from within the app. Users can also submit an external deletion request by contacting the privacy address below. Uninstalling the app removes local app data according to the device platform but does not by itself delete cloud data or an app account.
